The Illustrious Admiral Dingy
Alfred and I went to the Neches River to eat our
evening meal as we often do; however, a car pulled
up beside us and the driver got out with a camera
that had a very long photo lense. After awhile a
van pulling a red funny looking boat pulled up
behind us and parked.
When I saw the url admiraldingy.com on the side
of the van I knew news was about to be made.
Having been a photographer and a reporter while
in nursing school I was curious.
Then a truck pulled up next to us. It was Fred
Hebert (Abear) and his wife Judy. We all went
over and conversed with the illustrious Admiral
Dingy.
Coincidentally I had my digital camera with me.
Alfred took Princess by the leash and I ventured
to take videos and photos. I had briefly read
about Admiral Dingy's quest to sail around the
world in a small boat but I had not read the
entire article.
Interestingly, a friend of mine, Harry Fitzner,
is taking dance lessons from this Admiral Dingy
who teaches dance classes with much vigor and
rhythm of the dance. That does not surprise me.
IF we have a Florence Coleman Dance Reunion,
we will surely invite Admiral Dingy if he is
still around this area.
The videos are very large files. If you have
dialup, forget it. The first three pictures
are a screen capture of frames from the videos.
To download the pictures, put the cursor on the
picture and do a right click and a save as. The
orignals are very large files but I kept them.
To download the videos, do the same thing but
put the cursor on the link. If you left click
on the links for the videos, they will open
in Quick Time and you will not be able to
download them from Quick Time.
